    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To successfully fulfill this job position, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.     1. Independently diagnose and repair equipment in a timely manner.


    1. Produce quality work meeting Cagwin & Dorward production standards.


    1. Maintain requested records and forms.


    1. Maintain inventory of spare parts associated with job description.


    1. Assist other mechanics as needed, and cooperate with field personnel to meet

        company objective of serving our internal customers.


    1. Observe safe work practices at all times.


    1. Ability to work five consecutive 8-hour days, as scheduled. Be available to work

        overtime at the request of management.





    1. Assist with annual inventory of shop equipment and supplies.


    1. Perform field repairs, maintenance and vehicle inspections.


    1. Perform other job related duties as assigned.


    1. Actively seek improvements in service and repair procedures, in addition to

        prevention of equipment damage in the field.


    1. Prepare job materials for field operations.


    1. Maintain clean orderly work area.






    1. Ability to effectively understand and communicate with manager and fellow crew members.
    2. Possess strong working knowledge of 2 and 4 cycle equipment
    3. Must have at least two years formal training and one year practical field work, or comparable experience.
    4. Must possess a valid California driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.


    1. Able to stand/squat/kneel for extended periods while performing mechanical work, and possess dexterity, strength, and range of motion required to perform tasks usual to the position
    2. Able to make frequent repetitive movements with the left and right hand, wrist, ankle and knee.
    3. Ability to twist/turn/bend the trunk of the body frequently.


    1. Outdoor physical labor in temperatures ranging from cold 20°+ to heat of 100°+ and exposure to light rain.
    2. Able to limit exposure to dust, exhausts, chemicals, noise and pollutants related to the landscape shop mechanic industry with proper use of safety equipment (masks, gloves, goggles, etc.).
    3. Able to work within environment of machinery/equipment noise, traffic and hazards related to the landscape shop mechanic industry.
